In 1982 Jochen Arden introduced his first fully converted vehicle, the Arden AJ1, based on the Jaguar XJ V12. The AJ1 was not only changed outwardly, but also performance-optimized. The modifications included wheel / tire combination and chassis changes with new springs and dampers. A new high-performance exhaust system improved its performance compared with the series by approximately 16 hp. The sporty body conversion kit consists of new front / and side skirts. In the mid-eighties Arden offered a number of special V12 engines for the XJ. At the top was the 6.6 l engine version with a power of 455 hp. A new 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed ZF automatic replaced the antiquated GM 3-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the Jaguar / Daimler was completely revised and the customer had the choice between Recaro C or CSE seats, high-quality wood trim, leather roof, picnic tables, a refrigerator and other comfortable interior fittings.
The Arden AJ1 that we are offering here comes out of second hand possession. It is in a very well kept condition. In the issue 4 / 2010 of the magazine "classic cars" there was a detailed report on this AJ1.
