Big success for Arden Racing in the “green hell”

Within the 24h-Race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Arden Racing Team experienced an unbelievable race and has finally managed the leap onto the winner podest with the Arden MINI.

Beside the difficulties of the 25km long race track, further challenges were waiting for the drivers of the Mini Challenge. Before the start of the race, the weather in the Eifel presented itself moody as usual. The sky above the Nürburg was dominated by heavy rain clouds and some parts of the track were wet from the pouring rain. Arden Racing decided to take rain tires and was right with this strategy. Starting from the 8th position Arden Racing pilot E.Piro fought his way forward, and finally made the 3rd place in the overall standings.

This was not the only success at this Weekend.  Beside the place on the podium, Arden Racing also scored the victory in the Gentleman Class.

The team from Arden Racing took part again in the popular Challenge and won the Gentlemen standing. With E. Piro as a driver, Arden Racing won the first races at Hockenheim and Silverstone and celebrated a magnificent 3-fold triumph.

Further podium spots followed in the Gentlemen standing and dramatic comeback come on the Nürburgring at the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Due to incorrectly labeled tires Arden Racing was forced to start from last place, but still managed to gain the second place.

As the leading team in the overall standing and three points ahead of racing legend Harals Grohs, who is renowned for his 24-hour race, Arden Racing traveled to Salzburg.

In the last race of the season, Piro, despite a poor starting position, quickly caught up to Grohs and even managed to stay front over several laps.

Shortly before the end the grand old champion overtook again. Thus, with only a single point behind, Arden Racing has to settle with the 2nd place.

    Silvretta 2007

In celebration of the Silvretta anniversary, Jochen Arden fulfilled a long cherished wish and drove the favorite Alps rally with his childhood friend as a Co-Pilot in the cockpit. In the pouring rain, the rally car, a Jaguar E-Type Convertible, build year 1961, was loaded and driven 1800 m up to Galtür.

There, 173 classic´s had a rendezvous. On the very first day Arden and Schmid succeeded in maintaining themselves in the field of experienced world-class rally drivers, despite the pouring rain, and came under the first 20 in the days overall standings. On the second day the Kings stage led over 2 huge Alpine passes. The 16 difficult special stages, 13 Time and 10-drive through controls throughout the whole three days brought almost all the teams penalty points.

In the end a satisfiying result in the middle of the field was achieved.
