A 1000 year story

Between Kranenburg and Kleve, on the edge of the small village of Mehr, tucked away in the wide landscape of the lower Niederrein, the old Knights castle Zelem.   Willars and poplars form the natural borders in this flat landscape, were the blue of the heaven mixes with the green of the meadows.
The moated castle Zelem looks back at 1000 years of history, that had its heyday in the late middle ages until the end of the 18th century. Castle Zelem is the only castle that lived through the checkered history in the area of Kranenburg and is still preserved today as a medieval castle.
