In 1998 Arden presented the AJ 2+2 Coupe which for the time being was the last variant of the modified AJ-S. In comparison with the XJ-S it had a revised roof geometry that gave the AJ6 elegant and sweeping lines. These changes mainly affected the rear section of the vehicle. By removing the extended runners of the XJ-S roof, the vehicle loses its edges and corners. The room available, especially the interior headroom of the AJ6, is improved by the new roof design. The side and rear windows have also been modified and re-built. By removing the sight obstructing wide C-Columns and the larger side window, the driver receives a better all round visibility. The new elegant and aerodynamic shape of the rear view wing mirror also reduces wind noise. Through the shortened boot lid the Arden 2+2 Coupe sustains the original luggage and storage space. The vehicle was equipped with double headlamps, as well as further technical and engine modifications, should these be required.
