    Lotus Seven S2

In 1957 the Lotus Seven was introduced to the market. Based on Chapman’s first series race car, the Lotus 6, the Seven was powered by a 40 HP strong Ford -side-valve motor with 1172 cm³ engine displacement.  In 1960 the Series 2 (S2) followed and in 1968 Series 3 (S3). Even nowadays the Lotus is recreated in different versions by different providers. Original Lotus’ Seven are very rare and hard to find.

Our exposed vehicle is an original Lotus Seven S2. It was built in 1960 and received approval for road traffic in 1965. The vehicle possesses over a 1558 cm³ Lotus TwinCam Motor. The last owner owned the Lotus approximately 25 years and restored the car without considering the cost factor. There are proofs for modifications about approx. 70.000,- DM! The vehicle was seldomly driven so that the motor has a mileage from only 2.000 km. The vehicle was restored as true to the original as possible and is totally comparable to the way vehicle have been in former times– “purely manly”.
