The yellow Jaguar E-Type is a very clean original with a traceable history. After a major overhaul, the engine has a kilometrage of approximately 19,320 km. As part of extensive restoration and maintenance works, approximately € 71,000 was verifiably invested to make this beautiful vehicle a coveted collector’s item. The overall performance of the car can also be substantiated by extensive documentation.
With the Jaguar E-Type presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, Jaguar not only presented one of the most spectacular sports cars of all times, but also declared an automotive declaration of independence for the 60s and 70s: Jaguar chief-designer Malcolm Sayers and Jaguar founder and chief-executive Sir William Lyons styled and excitingly, completely new Jaguar E-Type with a self-supporting body with significantly improved aerodynamics.
The chassis was also new: independent front and rear suspension and standard disc brakes on all four wheels. The E-Type was also much lighter than the XK models. In 1964, the original 3.8-liter engine was replaced by a 4.2-liter engine of the same design.
The maximum output remained unchanged at 265 ps at 5500 rev/min, however, the maximum torque increased by 9% to 384 Nm at 4000 rev/min, which was reflected in a further improved pulling power. After a construction period of 15 years, the era ended in 1974.
