Vehicle Highlights
Vehicle description
In May 1966, BMW launched its sportiest saloon of the era – the 2000 TI with twin carburettors. Motorsport legend Hubert Hahne famously set a Nürburgring lap record of 9:58 minutes in a comparable car, cementing the model’s reputation.
The example offered here was first registered in June 1966 and comes in its original Turf Green paint with a fully documented provenance. Around €82,000 have been invested in professional restoration work, fully supported by an extensive photo archive and receipts.
With its uprated engine producing approx. 144 hp, twin Solex carburettors, Bilstein suspension, limited-slip differential and bolted roll cage, this BMW is ready for historic racing. At the same time, the cage, trim and bumpers can easily be refitted, allowing a return to factory specification.
As one of fewer than 50 cars listed in international registers, this rare 2000 TI offers genuine collector appeal and investment potential. Accompanied by its original documents, a Classic Data appraisal and fresh TÜV, it combines historical authenticity, motorsport pedigree and usability in a single package.
